Trailblazers specialises in providing life skills coaching for adolescents aged 16+, wherever they are living. Our constant objective is to supply a supportive environment where young people can learn how to look after themselves.
The involvement of an experienced outsider can often help to transform an uncooperative, sulky teenager into a more self-confident and optimistic adult. Life skills coaching from Trailblazers provides instruction in the following areas:
•Health education, including personal hygiene and registering with a doctor and dentist
•How to shop for, prepare and cook food, including what constitutes a balanced diet.
•Safety in the home, first aid, knowledge of the emergency services
•Laundry, sewing, mending fuses and other general housekeeping/DIY skills
•Compiling a CV, interview practise & applying for jobs
•Sexual education and preparation for parenthood
•Applying for any applicable Social Security Benefits
•Finding and utilising community services and available resources
•Contacting the Social Services Department and other caring agencies and groups
